Sanctum Inle Resort, a new 94-room resort situated on the banks of storied Inle Lake, has won a coveted spot in Condé Nast Traveller India’s Hot List 2017.
The Indian version of the prestigious magazine brand has announced its annual compendium of the world’s best new hotels in its August-September edition, singling out Sanctum Inle for its “gorgeous surroundings,” Wheel and Wine cycling tour to a nearby vineyard and locally brewed beer at its bar.
Outside of India, only 12 hotels from across Asia made the cut. Twelve hotels in India, 13 in Europe, six in the Americas and Caribbean, five in Africa, three in the Middle East, and one in Australia and New Zealand each were selected, bringing the total number of properties included in the Hot List to 53 worldwide.
Conde Nast Traveller India said its editors and reporters scoured the world to determine the list.
About Sanctum Inle Resort, Condé Nast Traveller India notes: “Located by scenic Inle Lake, the 94-key stay aims to make guests feel one with their gorgeous surroundings. While it offers several tours, our pick is the half-day Wheel and Wine cycling tour of Red Mountain Estate, a nearby vineyard. You get a snapshot of life around the lake—lush sugar cane fields and sleepy villages with stilt houses jutting out onto the lake. And the bike ride ends with samples of some excellent local wine, obviously.”
They also add: “Good to know: It’s not just the wine that’s a surprise here. Sample some of the locally brewed beer at the hotel’s Cloister Bar.”
General Manager Philippe Arnaud said he and Sanctum Inle Resort’s team were thrilled to have been recognised by such a prestigious publication.
“To receive such recognition so soon after our grand opening in October last year is incredible, “ said Arnaud. “This accolade reaffirms we’re the first truly upscale resort to come on line in one of Myanmar’s most compelling destinations.”
